OUR IMPACT

Universal Farmers Association is currently implementing a two-year Welthungerhilfe and Medicor Foundation-funded project titled: Strengthen the Resilience of Rural Female Farmers through Diversified Income Possibilities in RiverGee County, Liberia. The overall objective of the project is as follows.

Agricultural production and productivity are enhanced by competitive value creation and linkages to markets, resulting in improved food and income security, economic growth, and job creation by 20230 (Pillar II target of Liberia Pro-Poor Agenda) contributes.

Service title

the food and nutrition security of rural households in rural areas of Liberia has been increased, their incomes increased and their resilience to shocks strengthened. 500 mainly female-run households in the districts of Gbeapo and Chedepo in River Gee County increase their incomes, are strengthened in their resilience, and feed themselves and their families sufficiently. The project is currently working with 10 cooperatives of 500 beneficiaries in RiverGee County, Liberia.

Global Environment Facility Small Grants Program (GEF/SGP) UNDP-Liberia funded project 2021 - 2022 title: Promoting Best Farming Practices to protect and conserve biodiversity and enhance environmental sustainability.

OUR PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITIES INITIATIVE

There are two types of membership available: Individual and Institutional. Regardless of the type, joining UFA requires a decisive commitment from the individual or organization, believing in the importance of soil in agriculture. Membership is open to anyone or any organization that is currently involved in farming or intends to start farming. Prospective members must meet the following requirements:

  1. Complete a Membership Form

  2. Obtain a Valid Membership Identification Card

  3. Pay the Membership Fee

  4. Participate in the Farmers’ Savings and Agriculture Loan Program (FSALP)

  5. Join the Farmers’ Insurance Program (FIP)

The first step to understanding the scope of the project was to learn what shaped our landscape and seasons in Liberia, this learning experience helped us to be successful in improving Liberia's farming activities...

Location, scale, and accessibility were crucial to this project. We wanted to make the biggest but most realistic impact to Liberia farming landscape.

We contextualize the needs of Liberian farmers and educate them for productive farming results, This helped us to construct and provide well-equipped farming activities in Liberia.
